He's still in there.

Well it looks like I got to excited about the potential of the baby coming in June, but so far no June Birthday. Sometimes I kindof wish my doctor didn't tell me my progress, so I would still aim for July 5th. It has been trying my patience, and every major pain that comes on I wonder "is this the beginning" and then the pain goes away and doesn't come back, ughh. It's been hard but now it's better, I've been occupying my mind with other things. I'm almost finished making a couple of aaprons; I made two purses; and I'm going to start on another quilt, a pajama quilt, I have a little too many pajama pants, but the colors all go really well together so it will make a good quilt. I also, this morning, busted out the trimmers and shovel and went to town on my garden/patio; I weeded and trimmed and now I'm exhausted. The garden looks much better and is easier to manage.

Well the baby is bound to come some time, he's coming on his time. He's just so comfortable in mommy he's not ready to come out, so I'll wait, I guess I have to. Although, the doctor did ask me if I wanted to be induced, but I quickly said "no," he will come when he will come and my body knows that. So everybody have a good time doing whatever you're doing and make time fly-by (spelling?) so the baby comes quickly (lol). Just thought I needed to put up this post so you knew the status. Next post hopefully is of the baby.

Sorry it took so long to update my post but here it is. Updated and such there are quite a couple of posts for June 10th.

My Garden is Blooming

The first picture was taken at the very end of April and the second picture was taken today, June 10. The garden is growing and I am slowing down. It's hard to take care of a garden and being close to 9 months of pregnancy. I'm watering the plants and letting nature take its course. This is my first year so it is a learning year, and that's good since I'm big and pregnant. But so far the garden looks good, although the zuchinni is taken quite a bit of space I think next year I won't grow any and focus more on the cucumbers, since Grant and I love cucumbers and are so-so on zuchinni.

Mrs. Grumpee

Grant and I have adopted another turtle. Our turtle count is now to 4 turtles. Yoda, our biggest turtle, is our favorite turtle and we have had him the longest. He's been with Grant since he was 13 yrs. old I believe. Then we have Critter and Curmbox who live together in an aquarium they come next in our favorite line, they are the smallest of the turtles. They came to be in our family after Grant and I returned from Austria, and our turtle sitter for Yoda, was also watching Critter and Curmbox and the owner of the two little turtles didn't want them so we offered to take them. And now for Mrs. Grumpee; she received her name because of her attitude (but this is the first week we've had her so her name may change). Grant wanted to name her Grumpy, but I thought that the name sounded like a boys name so we went to Mrs. Grumpy, but Grant didn't want her name to necessarily describe her attitude so we named her Mrs. Grumpee. So her name is a name and not a label.

We came to know Mrs. Grumpee when I was doing my job. I'm a host family coordinator for some French foreign exchange students coming to California. I find the families and check out their homes to see if their homes have a welcoming environment for the French student. I was at a home doing a visit, and we started talking about pets, especially dogs. I told them I was allergic to dogs but still want a dog. I also shared with them, that I told my husband, before we add to our three turtles our next pet will be a dog. They then told me about their turtle they don't want and how it is in the garage right now in a bucket of water. The family called rescue shelters to have them take the turtle, but no rescue shelters returned their calls and they were stuck with the turtle. They felt bad for the turtle because they knew it wasn't in the best living style. So there I was, and I went back on my story and told them we would love to take another turtle, especially my husband would love it. After the visit I drove off with another host family and Mrs. Grumpee in the car with me.

When I got home I gave Grant a little father's day suprise/gift, and presented him with the turtle. He was happy that she was in a home that loves turtles. She is a little sick so we bought some turtle medicine to put in her water, and she seems to be doing really well now. We called her Mrs. Grumpee because when you hold her she claws at you and tries to bite you. When you walk by her she tucks her head so far in and holds her mouth open, but already she is transitioning and warming up to our home and the love we have for turtles. I never thought that I would be considered a part of a turtle family.

My Crafts

The Baby's Blanket is finally done.

The first picture is of the front of the baby's blanket. It has a lot of texture to it, and all of the white blocks have some sort of summer/beach design that I embroidered on there. His blanket is an overall beach theme, because he is a California baby. The second picture is of the front and back. My pictures don't give the blanket justice, it's very cute and I'm happy it's done.

Here is my second craft project. This is my first pillow I have made ever. The fabrics are my favorite part about it. Thanks to Maegan Millar, a friend here in the Bay area; she told me about this great couple that gets, recycled and discontinued fabric from interior designing companies and collects it. Then for a couple days out of each month they open their doors to people who love to do crafts and all the fabrics are free to us.

The above picture is the back of the pillow, I took a big piece of fabric and cut it in half then sewed it that way so you can insert the pillow. To finish off the cut I folded the fabric and sewed hook and eyes on the fabric; so once the pillow is in, you can hook it shut. I think it's pretty cool. I've never made a pillow before so I'm excited about this project.

Once more it is a timed picture, so I'm taking the picture and I'm in my pajamas, sorry.

These two pictures are close to a month apart, and this month my tummy is a lot heavier and is pushing in every direction, ouchy. I am due July 5th, but when I went to my doctor last Thursday she checked me and she strongly feels I will be having this baby in June. Things in my body are already preparing to have the baby now, and she said she wouldn't be suprised if he came at anytime. But, seeing that my Doctor has said this, and me getting all excited and everything, I wouldn't be suprised if the baby did wait and came in July. For some reason though I think he's coming sooner (hopefully).
